Examination
The examination section of the Institute holds examinations for eligible candidates of the professional and foundation courses. The examinations are held twice a year - in May and November, in certain specified centres in India and abroad. There are two stages of examinations for the Chartered Accountancy Course: Intermediate and Final examination. Requirement for passing an examination
In each of the examinations of the Institute a candidate is required to secure a minimum of 40% marks in individual papers and a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate. Professional course examinations (Inter and Final)
The examinations of the Professional Course are divided into two sections: - Intermediate examination
- Final examination
Intermediate examination The intermediate exam consists of two groups Group I - Accounting
- Accounting and elements of income tax
- Cost accounting
- Auditing
Group II - Mercantile Law, company law and industrial law
- Business mathematics and statistics
- Organisation and management
- Economics
Final examination The final examination also consists of two groups: Group I - Advanced accounting
- Management accounting
- Auditing
- Company law
Group II Candidates may choose any one of the following combinations: Combination A - Corporate management
- Secretarial practice
- Managerial economics
- Accounting
Combination B - Operational research and statistical analysis
- System analysis and data processing
- Cost systems and cost control
Combination C - Management information and control systems
- Tax planning and tax management
- Management and operational audit
Results
The results of the examinations are declared by the end of July and January. The results are also available at the website and individual intimation is sent to students. Mode of training
